Welp, not sure what else to do here.IBM 11a/b/g wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter II. If so, I haven’t built a computer in decades, so, like, what motherboard is compatible with this CPU? It seems like it’s got laptop memory in it (on the bottom of the mb!?), is that common on desktops now, or is that just something weird about this board? Thanks, Chris.

I tried searching for these numbers but couldn’t find any diagnostic code pages, but maybe I missed them.
Alongside the switches is an old-school style led 4 hex number readout, that as the machine tries to boot, switches between various numbers, usually hanging on 0015 or 0062 and others. Sometimes it’ll get to the Intel logo right before the “press f2 to enter BIOS”, sometimes it’ll print the “press f2 to enter BIOS” but it won’t do anything. Sometimes it won’t even turn on the vga port. I’ve tried a bunch of these, with no luck. So, something went very wrong with this Intel motherboard when I plugged in the GTX 260, I guess? Since it’s a wacky prototype, it’s got a bunch of switches and buttons on the front, some for weird laptop emulation like “lid closed”, some for “clear cmos”, “restore BIOS”, etc. I decide to take a risk with a friend’s tower that he left here for me to “fix” and put the power supply and the GTX 260 in there, and they work fine (phew). I take everything back out, make it exactly how it was, and it still won’t boot, even into the BIOS. So, the GTX 260 and the powersupply came this week, and I plugged them all in, and the machine won’t boot now. It worked fine, I would occasionally boot it up for testing, but it’s the only tower I have (I do most development on laptops under the philosophy that making SpyParty work well on slow laptops will mean it works great on desktops), so when it came time to try to repro a bug some players were having with Nvidia Telsa boards (GTS 8800, GTX 260, etc), I bought one of these old boards on ebay (and then realized I also needed to buy a new bigger power supply, sigh). On the front, it says: Platform: Chief River Processor/Chipset: Ivy Bridge/Panther Point Board: Emerald Lake 2 This is the closest I could find online: It’s got an i7 with an HD 4000 integrated GPU (which is why I have it, it was for testing my game SpyParty when the HD4k was new).
